White websites

We can all think of one website which is largely based on a white background, but other than that, here's a nice list of clean white website design. Sometimes I love sites which are OTT in style and colours, but today I'm all for white clean crispness. See it as a January design detox.

Re-tweet and share boxes

Those two boxes on Mashable.com's article snippets (like the revamp by the way!) contain re-tweet and Facebook share boxes. I mean... do they fill a function, other than making Mashable.com look busy and active? There can be many reasons for re-tweeting... good and bad reasons. I like easy to find links that will help me export content, but I'm not sure on the big count... Reminds me of old websites with visitor counts that looked like old alarm clocks.

Do tweet and FB count boxes bring added value when reading an article?

The first recommendation of the year

(on this blog at least :) )

Check out Johan Ronnestam's blog www.ronnestam.com. I've recommended him before and I'll recommend him again. Brilliantly written, savvy, smart and everything you'd like a digital blog to be. As an added bonus it's written with the heart on his Swedish sleeve.

Some great blog posts by Ronnestam;
*Brand and communication predictions for 2010
*Packaging concepts that bring boring objects and products to life
*How a comic strip can make you cry
